DPS identifies Odessa teen killed in crash

ECTOR COUNTY -- A young woman was killed in a crash in West Odessa on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Marla Isaias-Chavez, 17, of Odessa.

Gabriel Briseno-Campa, 18, of Chihuahua, Mexico, Diego Garibay, 20, of Odessa, and Jovan Flores, 16, of Odessa were all taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to DPS, their troopers were called to a crash at 64th Street and Moss Avenue at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday.

When the troopers arrived at the scene they found a crash involving a Chevrolet Silverado and a Dodge Charger.

An investigation of the crash revealed that the Silverado, driven by Campa, was traveling west on 64th Street while the Charger, driven by Chavez, was traveling south on Moss Avenue.

According to DPS, Campa disregarded the stop sign at the intersection and crashed into Chavez's car.

DPS says that everyone involved was wearing their seat belts.
