Authorities searching for suspects in Big Spring shooting

The search is on for two suspects following a shooting at a KFC in Big Springs that sent a 2-year-old girl to the hospital.

Big Spring police say that they are searching for Angel Villa, 20, and Rafael Jesus Hernandez Jr., 20.

According to the Big Spring Police Department, their officers were dispatched to KFC on Friday night for a shots fired call.

When police arrived at the scene they found that a man and a young girl had been shot. The man was taken to the Scenic Mountain Medical Center while the girl was airlifted to Lubbock in serious condition.

The girl went through surgery on Monday and is currently in good condition.

An investigation of the shooting revealed that people in two vehicles in the parking lot of KFC when they were shot at by two suspects believed to be Villa and Hernandez.

The victims tried to drive away but continued to be shot at as they left the parking lot.

Arrest warrants have now been issued for both Villa and Hernandez, who will be charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
