Another warm day is expected across West Texas. High pressures continues to remain in control of the weather pattern. This combined with a shot of southwesterly winds will allow temperatures to climb to around 80 this afternoon.
The winds might be a bit gusty (10-20mph) during the afternoon hours but not as strong as what I expect on Tuesday afternoon.
The first half of Tuesday looks to be warm. Temperatures will start around 50 and climb quickly into the lower 70’s by the early afternoon. A cold front will drop into the region during the afternoon hours of Tuesday. This will bring strong north winds (15-25mph) and cooler temperatures. Highs will be in the lower 70’s, which will be in the early part of the afternoon. Temperatures will then trend downward at a fast pace in the afternoon and evening hours. Overnight lows will fall into the mid-30’s (a drop of almost 40 degrees over a 12-15 hour period).
Expect temperatures to remain cooler for the rest of the week. Highs will be in the 60’s and lows in the 30’s and 40’s. It would appear that another cold front will move through the region on Thursday. This front will not really be colder than the first front but will ultimately keep temperatures on the cooler side of things through the end of the week. The winds will be quite strong along and behind the front on Thursday.
Both of the cold fronts this week are expected to come through the area dry.
A slow warm up is expected this weekend.
