Murder Suspect Arrested

UPDATE:

Odessa Police have made an arrest in connection to the murder that occurred at the Acacia Park Apartments.

Khalifah Muhammad was located this morning at the Flying J Truck Stop.

Muhammad was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

The investigation continues.

MIDLAND - According to the City of Midland, a perimeter has been set up in the area of Basin and Commerce as law enforcement look into a tip at the possible location of the Odessa shooter, Khalifah Ibn Muhammad.

Midland Police is assisting the Midland County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Public Safety in closing roads near Loop 250 and Business 80.

Sheriff Gary Painter says they believe Muhammed is armed and travelling on foot.

Buildings in the area will continue to be searched throughout the day.

29-year-old Kalifah Muhammad, is accused of gunning down 24-year-old Brandon Russell just before 11 p.m. at the Acacia Apartments parking lot Wednesday Night.
