PRESIDIO, Tx (NEWS RELEASE) -- U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned on the Presidio station apprehended 35 immigrants this weekend as they tried to cross the Rio Grande, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Patrol Agent in Charge Derek Boyle said, "This apprehension is a reflection of our agents diligent commitment to overcome everyday challenges while securing our border and protecting our community."
On Sunday, at approximately 6 p.m. the group was apprehended by the Presidio Border Patrol Agents.
The agents encountered the large group of subjects near the bank of the Rio Grande after they illegally made entry without inspection.
The group was made up mostly of family units (children and parents) and were all citizens of Honduras.
The subjects will be charged and processed accordingly to the applicable immigration laws.
