Border Patrol apprehended convicted rapist and daughter as they attempt to enter U.S. illegally

EL PASO, Tx (KOSA) On Thursday, March 7th, U.S. Border Patrol at El Paso arrested a father and his 17-year-old daughter as they entered illegally to the U.S. from Mexico.

The man, identified as 40-year-old Santos Quinilla-Tum from Guatemala, was later revealed to be a convicted rapist after a records check.

Quinilla was arrested on March 22, 2005 in Massachusetts and charged with Rape of Child with Force, a Felony. He was later found guilty and sentenced to 18 months in prison. Quinilla was deported to Guatemala in 2009.

Quinilla will be facing prosecution for the felony of 8 USC 1326, Reentry of Removed Aliens.

His daughter, whose name is not revealed, was also taken into custody.
