Big Spring murder suspect turns herself in

BIG SPRING -- UPDATE: Police say that the suspect in Tuesday night's murder is now in custody.

According to the Big Spring Police Department, Susan Overton turned herself in at the Howard County Law Enforcement Center at 11 a.m.

As she was taken into custody she was found with a gun believed to be the weapon used in the murder.

The vehicle police say Overton used to flee the scene was also recovered.

Big Spring Police are on the hunt for a woman they believe killed a man late Tuesday night.

A news release states first responders were dispatched to the 700 block of Bucknell around 11pm Tuesday in reference to a gunshot victim.

Offers found 30-year-old Jesse James Collins White with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center where he later died, police say.

Officers believe 31-year-old Susan Etta Overton pulled the trigger. They say she fled the scene in a 2010 white Ford Focus with license plate number: JYL4340. Police say she is armed and dangerous.
