Authorities searching for woman's body after man confesses to killing her in Odessa

ODESSA/JACKSON PARISH -- Authorities in Odessa and Louisiana are searching for a woman's body after a man confessed to killing her before he took his own life.

According to the Jackson Parish Sheriff's Department in Louisiana, a suspect named Jonathan "Jay" Boston confessed to his family members that he had killed Ashley Martin Davis and that he had done it in Odessa.

When deputies went to arrest Boston they found that he had taken his own life hours before.

A search of a nearby town led the sheriff's department to find Davis' vehicle though her body remains missing.

On Wednesday afternoon the sheriff's department announced that a man named Laterrian Lewis, 33, had been arrested on charges of Obstruction of Justice in the murder investigation of Ashley Davis. His bond has been set at $100,000.

The Odessa Police Department tells CBS7 that they and the Texas Rangers are helping with the Jackson Parish Sheriff's Department investigation.

There is no word yet on how Davis or Boston are connected to Odessa or West Texas.
