Motorcyclist dies a day after sliding under 18-wheeler in Midland County

MIDLAND COUNTY, Tx. (KOSA) -- 8:20 p.m. Update: The motorcyclist involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler in Midland County died Wednesday night, according to friends of his family.

3:30 p.m. Update: Friends of the family of the motorcyclist involved in this morning's wreck say he's in critical condition and on life support this afternoon.

They say he was trying to avoid hitting the 18-wheeler and ended up sliding under it.

We are not reporting his name because it is our policy not to until it is officially released by law enforcement.

11:30 a.m. Update: The eastbound lanes of Highway 80 have now reopened.

DPS and the Midland County Sheriff's Office are on the scene of a crash involving a truck tractor and a motorcycle on Tuesday morning.

According to MCSO, the crash happened at Highway 80 and South County Road 1250.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find alternate routes as the eastbound lanes are closed at this time.

There is no word yet on injuries being reported from the accident.
