Auction of items belonging to late Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson to be held Friday

ALPINE -- An auction of items owned by Joaquin Jackson, a famous Texas Ranger who died earlier this year after a courageous battle with cancer will be held later this week in Alpine.

Jackson previously asked that all of his items be sold at auction when he died in order to help his son.

Jackson was not only a lifetime law enforcement officer, but also an actor in several movies including The Good Old Boys and Wild Horses.

Included in the auction will be hats, boots, and guns as well as numerous scripts and Hollywood items.

"I think if you have interest in Texas Rangers and Texas History, you'll never get a chance like this again. To get a piece of this man's amazing life," said Martin Stringer of the Fort Davis Auction Company.

The auction will start Friday night at 6 p.m. at the Holland Hotel in Alpine, and an estate sale will be held at Jackson's house on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can find more information on the estate sale here.
