Alpine Police confirmed in a Friday Facebook Post that Zuzu Renee Verk, a 22-year-old white female 5’0”, 110 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes has not been heard from since the early morning hours Wednesday. APD said she was also an employee at the University. Police said they believe she may be “endangered”.

Her mother, Lori Verk, tells us that Zuzu and her on-again off-again boyfriend went out to to the movies with a group of friends Tuesday night.

Zuzu's mother says that she still hadn't heard from her come Friday. She then called Zuzu's boyfriend, who said he also hadn't heard from her.

Verk tells CBS 7 News that Zuzu's boyfriend said she never showed up for her mid-term exam on Wednesday and she missed her shift at work.

Verk says Zuzu and her friends were planning to go camping in Big Bend National Park on Friday just after mid-terms.

Verk tells us Zuzu's phone is dead. We reached out to police to ask more about what we learned from the mother, but a dispatcher said they were “too busy” to talk about the incident and hung up. A family friend plans to put up missing signs in the Midland-Odessa area.

Anyone with information on Verk's whereabouts is asked to contact the Alpine Police Department at (432) 837-3486.
