Alpine murder suspect found dead of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound

ALPINE -- A man sought in connection to a murder investigation in Alpine over the weekend has been found dead.

On Saturday morning the Alpine Police Department stated that they were looking for 42-year-old Robert Nin in connection to the shooting death of Michael Alan Pate, 34.

Police said that Pate was found with several gunshot wounds in the 300 block of South Cockrell earlier that same day. Nin was then considered to be a fugitive who was armed and dangerous.

On Sunday afternoon the Alpine Police Department announced that their officers had found the body of Nin in the 300 block of South Phelps. According to police, Nin appeared to have suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say that their investigation into the case is ongoing at this time.
