Jair joined the CBS7 News Team in 2022 after finishing at Hofstra University, located in Long Island, New York with his Master's Degree in Journalism.
At Hofstra, Jair excelled academically and socially as he was a member of the HEAT Network, Radio Hofstra University, and the Hofstra Chronicle.
Between his time at the Chronicle and RHU, Jair had the chance to cover Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse for the Pride. He also covered the New York Riptide, Long Island Nets, and Long Island Ducks, and was a member of the media before Super Bowl LVI.

During Day 2 of the Richard McCalop basketball camp, professional dunk artists from around the country came to Odessa to put together a show for campers. “It’s really just an amazing experience for everyone, the kids get a lot of it, we get a lot out of it, it’s a really good situation,” said Ben Wolfe.“To come out here and showcase my talents, I think that’s probably the number one priority,” said Issac White. McCalop’s camp will be annually in Odessa during the summer.

Andrews Native Payton Blackmon will be competing in the National High School Rodeo in Wyoming between July 16th until the 22nd. Growing up, he wanted to ride Bulls but after talking about it, he made the decision to go into Bareback horse-riding.

Professional Basketball and Pecos Native Andre Roman began his two-day camp on Monday. Roman has been known to host the camp in his hometown for years and is glad to give back to the community.“It’s great man, it’s great to see something that you pour out to the world, pour out to the kids and you genuinely do something to give back to them and help them and it’s great to see them. Not only the local kids pour into it and follow what we are teaching but see kids make their way out hear from different cities”, said Roman. Roman’s camp will continue on Tuesday at the Reeves County recreation center.

Midland native Tim Jakel helps lead the Boys & Girls Club in Midland and Odessa. He was once a member of it while he was growing up. During high school, Jakel had aspirations of playing college football and held several offers but after suffering a serious injury while weightlifting, he lost the scholarships. A conversation with a high school mentor helped Tim’s mindset. After working for several non-profits, Tim became the Director of Development for the Boys & Girls Club.
