Eduardo Huijon Jr. (also known as “Eddie”) is our CBS7 Weekend News Anchor and Bilingual Multimedia Journalist, joining us in April 2021.

Eddie is a Southern California native who grew up amongst the beach and orange groves in Orange County, California.

As a child, he was inspired by Gwen Stefani’s roots in Anaheim and began to take an interest in the entertainment industry. At the age of 17, he later earned an acting certificate from Barbizon Hollywood at the Los Angeles Center Studios. During his senior year at Loara High School, he began reporting as the weatherman for the morning school announcements.

While attending Fullerton College he joined the Cinema-Radio-Television department and earned an associate’s transfer degree in Film, Television, and Electronic Media. One of Eddie’s extracurricular activities at Fullerton College was being an on-air host for the community college’s radio station 90.1 FM KBPK.

After leaving Fullerton College, he transferred to San Francisco State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts, with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism in December 2020. He was a student Multimedia Journalist for his university’s weekly newscast ‘State of Events’ and was nominated for “Best On-Air Talent” for the department's annual festival ‘B.E.C.A. Fest’, in May 2020.

While adventuring the giant tech city of San Francisco as a student, Eduardo enjoyed hanging out at Mission Dolores Park, Crissy Fields, The Castro District, and Corona Heights Park. His favorite places to eat in San Francisco are La Corneta Taqueria, Golden Boy Pizza, El Techo, Squat & Gobble, Uno Dos Tacos and La Mejor Bakery.

Whenever Eduardo gets to visit his home in Southern California, he enjoys spending time with all his relatives and going shopping with his mom. His favorite places in the SoCal area are Harriet's Rooftop, Club 33, Zinqué, The Disneyland Resort, Strut, Banzai Bowl, The Filling Station, Laguna Beach, Ojai Ice Cream, and Café Habana.

Eddie has had the opportunity to intern at Scriberr News as a News Writer and worked for The Associated Press as an Election Night Reporter (Stringer) for the 2020 Presidential Election in November 2020 at the Orange County Voting Center in Santa Ana, CA.
