MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - UPDATE: A chemical fire at Imperative Chemicals on Highway 80 in Midland County is out now.
Midland County Emergency Management, the Fire Marshal’s Office and county tankers with water responded to the scene.
According to Justin Bunch, Midland County Emergency Manager, an employee was off loading chemicals when it sparked and caught fire.
The truck burned and the employee was burned and has serious injuries.
Other property was damaged but the fire did not reach any structures.

The city says county tankers are in route with water to the scene now.
They ask travelers to avoid the area and seek an alternate route if possible.
