MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - After a year off due to COVID-19, the annual Midland Christmas Parade is back this year, and organizers are excited to restart one of the city’s biggest events.

“This is one of the events everyone looks forward to,” said Midland Recreation Supervisor Joey Jolly.

This year’s theme, called the All-American Christmas Parade, is red, white, and blue to honor local first responders.

“Lots of people come to watch it to spend time with their families,” Jolly said. “Lots of people participate in the parade, have their floats with different organizations, churches, boy scouts, girl scouts.

The parade route starts on Colorado St., turns right down Tennessee Ave, makes another right on Weatherford, and finishes up on Wall St.

You can set up anywhere along that route, and the city is providing ample opportunities to gorge yourself with food and activities.

“There will be food trucks here, there will be a photo with the grinch and hot chocolate here, and of course, Santa will be here for the parade,” Jolly said.

The All-American Christmas Parade begins Saturday evening at 6:30.
