Midland Health reinstates mask and screening mandates
MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Midland Health announced Wednesday that it will be updating its mask and screening guidelines for visitors, patients, and staff starting Thursday morning.
According to a release, every visitor who enters the hospital will be screened for symptoms. Anyone experiencing symptoms including a fever, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath will not be allowed to visit patients.
Visitors will also be required to have a face covering once they enter the hospital. They will also be required to frequently wash their hands and limit their stay to only the patient’s room. Visitors will be allowed to remove their masks while visiting a patient as long as they maintain social distancing and do not interact with hospital staff.
Midland Health is making these changes in accordance with requirements from Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services.
Medical Center Hospital announced Tuesday that it would also be reimplementing a mask policy at the request of CMS.
