ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) -Behind the walls of Medical Center Hospital, there’s gonna be changes. Tuesday, the hospital said it received an unexpected visit from the government on behalf of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

“They wanted to visit with us about us letting people in without a mask, about us not screening people anymore, and about not requiring our employees to wear a mask,” said MCH’s President and CEO Russell Tippin.

After their visit, officials decided that the new more lenient policy needed to go.

“They produced a CDC which is a federal— [the centers for disease control] a federal recommendation that all visitors that visit the hospital must be screened, including a temperature check and all employees, must wear a mask while in the hospital,” said Tippin.

This guidance overrules all state and local orders. So it’s here to stay.

The mask and screening policy will stay in effect until further notice, but not to worry, visitors can still see their loved ones in the hospital as long as they mask up.
