CRANE, Texas (KOSA) - A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday for the Crane County Law Enforcement Center.

The 68-bed correctional facility will be located off of the N.W. truck route by the Crane County Airport and is expected to open in 14 months.

It will be replacing the current Crane County Jail, which only holds 24 beds and was opened in 1958.

The sheriff’s office will be hosting training for area law enforcement once the center is open.

Crane County Sheriff Andrew R. Aguilar thanked Crane County Judge Roy Hodges, all the Commissioners, the City of Crane, and Crane County citizens for their help with the new center.
