MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Midland Memorial will begin the process of mass vaccinations next Monday at the Horseshoe arena.

Last week, MMH announced that they would present a plan to the state outlining how the hospital could distribute large amounts of the COVID-19 vaccine.

That plan was approved - now MMH will put it in action.

People who qualify for phase 1A or 1B can register for the vaccine online.

Once registered, the date and time will be assigned for the vaccination appointment.

MMH hopes to vaccinate about 1,000 people a day now that they are receiving a larger supply of vaccines.

“A little anxious that we not get ahead of ourselves. We have to temper our optimism with the fact that it’s going to take months. In the meantime, even though we are giving lots of shots, we’ve got to continue doing the same things we’ve been doing that have driven our numbers down and have helped our community get through this,” said MMH president and CEO Russell Meyers.

MMH is in the process of setting up a phone line so people who do not have internet access can still register.
