MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - A Bowie Fine Arts Academy student was flown to a Dallas hospital this week suffering from post COVID-19 systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS).

He was originally taken to Midland Memorial Hospital Monday night with low blood pressure, according to the family’s GoFundMe page.

While at MMH, he was tested for COVID-19, which came back negative.

But doctors decided to transfer him to Cook Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in DFW.

The family says doctors there diagnosed him with coronavirus antibodies, along with kidney failure and inflammation around his heart.

The student’s uncle is having to stay with him at the hospital, because both of his parents have tested positive for COVID-19.

The website says the student is resting comfortably while receiving treatment.
