Big Bend National Park is Open for Business 1017/13
CBS 7 News
Big Bend National Park opened this morning at 7:30 AM according to Acting Chief Ranger, Scott Taylor. The West gate was opened around 7:30 AM and the North gate opened around 8:30 AM. As of last night, the government shutdown is no longer in effect, which means the national park is allowed to open.
He says people are still trickling in after they received a report for everyone to return to their normal schedule, but it's going to take a little bit of time to get everything running the way it was.
Companies like Far Flung and local hotels can rest assured that their business is back.
