EYE ON EDUCATION: $1 Million Dollar Donation to Help Midland ISD Staff 10/10/13
CBS 7 News
The board of directors of the Henry Foundation has approved a donation of $1 million dollars to MISD’s educational foundation.
That's according to superintendent, Dr. Ryder Warren, who says the money will be used solely for MISD support staff. That includes bus drivers, custodians, and other support staff positions.
Half of the funds will be used to assist qualifying current MISD staff members and the other half of the funds will go into recruiting efforts in these departments.
MISD will be working in conjunction with the Henry Foundation in creating guidelines for applicants and the program.
Dr. Ryder Warren released this statement:
"I cannot say enough about The Henry Foundation. Mr. and Mrs. Henry, along with The Henry Foundation Board, have made a true impact for our staff members, and this simply does not happen in most places. This indicates the level of support that is given to our community members who serve our children in Midland. I will be forever grateful to The Henry Foundation for its support of our staff and our children."
