Midland Police Searching for Hotel Stabbing Suspect 9/30/13
City of Midland
Police are searching for a suspect in an aggravated assault that took place at a hotel over the weekend.
Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of multiple stab victims at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel located in the 100 block of West Wall Street at approximately 1:39 a.m. Sunday. Two subjects, one male and one female, were found with non-life-threatening knife wounds and were transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Witnesses told police that the suspect had been approached by the two individuals after the suspect had “grabbed” the female in the hotel’s bar. The male initiated a physical confrontation with the suspect in the hallway outside the bar. The suspect was struck several times and knocked to the ground before pulling a knife and cutting the male approximately five times. The female attempted to engage the suspect as well and received a cut to her arm.
Patrons and friends attempted to chase the suspect, who fled the scene toward the south.
The suspect was described as a bald, heavy-set Hispanic male standing at approximately 6 feet tall and wearing a white t-shirt, black pants and a gold chain.
