MIDLAND COUNTY-In light of the discovery of a dead goat and dog stuffed inside sacks and thrown over a fence in Midland County, many have asked how to dispose of dead animals.
For dogs and cats, the City of Midland says your veterinarian or Midland Animal Services are your best bets in their disposal. Midland Animal Services will take in these small animals for free and dispose of them properly.
You can take livestock and other animals to the Midland City Landfill to be disposed of. The landfill says the cost ranges from a minimum of $100 to more, depending on the size of the animal.
"We recommend that you let your vet handle your home animals," said Jill Reed, environmental compliance specialist with the City of Midland.
