ALPINE-The Alpine City Council Meeting took up two very controversial issues.
The city decided to give City Secretary Molly Taylor some of the responsibilities of City Manager as the city works to fill the position, which was left vacant late last month.
The most controversial issue arose when City Council Member Michael Castelli put forth a motion to vote no confidence in City Attorney John Armstrong with a request for his voluntary resignation.
That motion passed with 3 yeas, 1 nay and one absent council member.
Another bombshell dropped at the meeting was by Interim City Finance Director Deborah Pattison. She told the council, against the motion regarding the city attorney, that the city was unable to balance its ledger to the tune of $30.2 million dollars.
"My debits do not equal my credits," Pattison said to the crowd, impassioned and holding back tears.
