Ben and Heather Fuentes attended Crane Elementary now, three of their four children are following their footsteps but, there have been a few changes since their heyday.
Today when they dropped off the kids they were amazed with the new look.
"I love it,” “It's beautiful,” “It's huge,” “I just can't imagine I mean the school we went to we grew up here going to school together so the whole school we went to is non-existent," say the Fuentes’.
The most recent addition to the campus is a drop-off circle and the Fuentes family says it made getting the kids to class a breeze.
"It wasn't bad at all and they have the school set up so everything went real smooth...just dropped them off and ran," said Heather.
But the changes weren't just superficial.
"We have an amazing building. My classrooms are huge, we have the latest technology," says Principal Lisa Mitchell.
"I wish we would have had it growing up. We had some apple PCs, that's about as technology as we got," Ben said of his time at Crane Elementary.
Now each classroom is equipped with a smart board, a document camera, a laptop and Principal Mitchell says that tablets are on the way.
In addition to the updated technology, the school has also stepped up their security.
"This building, compared to the old one is so much easier to secure, there's one way in and out," says Mitchell
The playgrounds also have locked gates, all of which keeps the children safe and puts the parents at ease.
Mitchell tells us that student enrollment at the elementary school is higher than it's ever been but, with the big new building they are able to accommodate all students.
