MIDLAND-The petroleum museum was host to a unique celebration today. The Able Center held its annual Americans With Disabilities Act celebration.
With prizes, giveaways and discounted entrance to the museum, today was a chance to connect those in the basin with resources and remember an important milestone for people with disabilities.
“We had such a wonderful turnout,” said The ABLE Center’s Executive Director Marilyn Hancock. “Our plans are to celebrate it every year because people with disabilities have gotten so many more rights from wheelchair ramps to the end of discrimination.”
There was a clown for kids and volunteers from many organizations including Medical Center Hospital and the city’s Community and Senior Services office on-hand to help with the event
The center has a number of resources for people with disabilities including workforce training. You can find more information on their website at this link.
