Rain Continues To Move Into West Texas 7/16/13
Showers and thunderstorms continue to move into the eastern Permian Basin and the Colorado River Basin. Some locations have already reported 2-3” of rainfall and more is expected today and tonight.
As the upper level storm system, now over the Texas Panhandle drops southwestward toward El Paso later today, moisture will surge into the Permian Basin, increasing the chance of rain and flash flooding.
A flash flood watch remains in effect for much of the area through Wednesday.
While a few thunderstorms may linger into Thursday, most of the heavy rain will exit the area by then. Look for warming temperatures and decreasing clouds this weekend.
