Permanent Stage Rises For Rock The Desert 7/13/13

One of the biggest events of the summer is getting a major new addition.
Rock the Desert put the finishing touches on a $380,000 permanent stage today at its home on 1788 near the airport.
It's the first permanent stage for the event after years of costly rentals.
Organizers say it will save thousands of dollars each year.
"The community will be able to use the stage like if the symphony wanted to rent it for an outdoor concert, it's going to be big enough for a large symphony," said Marcy Tull, co-chairman of the Board of Directors for Rock The Desert.
The stage construction was made possible by private donors.
The stage will be able to withstand winds of up to 90 mph.
