While the skies were lit up and bright last night, it's the aftermath on the ground that's an eyesore for locals.
West Texas cities have strict rules against popping fireworks within city limits which is why many people head to the county to shoot them off legally.
But today landowners are having to clean up the mess left behind, and they’re not happy about it.
"If you're gunna make a mess, clean it up," says Roger Lujan.
Not only is there fallout from fireworks but, food and drink trash lay in the streets as well.
"We have them signs, don't mess with Texas," say Lujan.
On the other hand, some people didn't have a problem with the aftermath of the fireworks but rather, the fireworks themselves.
"Well I know it kept me awake last night," says Norvel Halfacre
That's a feeling all too many of us felt last night.
