MIDLAND, TX - For most of us, summer time means pool parties and outdoor fun but for the midland fire department, it's the time for water-related emergencies. For that reason, fire fighters in the tall city attended a special training session today to brush up on these types of rescues. Captain Aaron Cox says, these are high stakes calls and his team needs to be ready to respond.
"We do this yearly to educate the public on ways to prevent drowning and we wanna make sure our medics are ready to handle any scenario with a drowning," said Captain Aaron Cox, The Midland Fire Department.
The department also took this opportunity to train for swift water rescues in the event of flash flooding.
