Midland Police Searching for Aggravated Robbery/Kidnapping Suspect 6/20/13
MIDLAND - The Midland Police Department is looking for the publicís help in locating a subject who committed both aggravated robbery and attempted kidnapping twice early Thursday morning.
Police responded to the first incident in the 1100 block of West Kentucky Avenue at approximately 12:08 a.m. An investigation found that a male subject had been giving a ride to two females, who admitted during the investigation that they did not know the man. The first female was dropped off at an apartment located along East Industrial Avenue before the man committed aggravated robbery, exhibiting a knife to the second female and demanding her purse. The man attempted to kidnap the female victim, but she was able to escape.
Authorities responded to a second robbery that resulted in a stabbing at approximately 12:52 a.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart located in the 4500 block of North Midland Drive. The suspect, whose description matched the one given by the victim of the first incident, stabbed a woman in the arm as she entered her truck and then tried to enter the truck before fleeing the scene. The woman was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-4- to 5-foot-6-tall black male with an average build. He fled the scenes of both incidents in a light-colored, four-door sedan, possibly a Cadillac or Lincoln.
