Sales tax revenue numbers are in for the month of May

Sales tax revenue numbers are in for the month of May, proving that the state and West Texas economy is still thriving.
According to the State Comptrollerís office, sales tax revenue in Texas was up for the month of April, earning more than $2.15 billion.
Cities, counties, transit systems, and special purpose taxing districts will receive allocations totaling more than $668.5 million.
Thatís up ď5.6% from last year.
The City of Midland will receive more than $5 million for the month of May.
Odessa will earn more than $3 million.
Big Spring saw the largest spike, getting $837,000, thatís up nearly 11% from May 2012.
Andrews will also earn a large check of $570,000.
