Two Men Crash Into Deputy's Car During High Speed Chase 5/1/13

At approximately 2:00 p.m today, Sheriff's Deputies responded to a "Theft
In Progress" call in Penwell.
Rhode's Operations located at 317 E. I-20 told officers that 2 suspects in
a white 2003 Ford Pickup had fled on foot from the scene.
Officers impounded the vehicle in question and a search for suspects began.
Later in the day, officers received information about the two suspects and
their possible location and a description of the vehicle they were now
The vehicle was described as a 2010 metallic blue Dodge pickup and had
Officers responded to the area of Floyd Gwin Park off West County Road and
spotted the vehicle and thats when the pursuit began.
The suspect's vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, at times driving
in the wrong lane of traffic and disregarding on coming traffic.
The vehicle went through several streets and ended up busting the
intersection of 2nd street and Vine causing an oncoming Escalade to slow
The Deputy's vehicle collided withe the SUV at that intersection and the
suspect's vehicle continued East on 2nd then South on West County Road
where he was last seen traveling South.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., Texas Rangers and DPS received information that
vehicle and suspects were at a location in the 800 block of East 14th.
Contact was made and 2 subjects were taken into custody and charged with
Evading In A Motor Vehicle, a Felony 3.
