Cool Temperatures, Less Winds 4/23/13
Following the passage of a strong late-season cold front early Tuesday morning we are enjoying a very cool day, with highs only in the 50's. After very strong gusty winds in the early morning hours, things are calming down a bit, and winds should continue to diminish through Wednesday. Our temperatures tonight will dip into the 30's, with the possibility of a light freeze in the northern end of the Permian Basin and southeastern New Mexico. Wednesday's temperatures will remain considerably below average (for Midland International Airport the average high is 81), with highs only in the 60's by Wednesday afternoon. Warmer weather will start returning on Thursday.
