Texting While Driving Bill to be Presented to Texas Senate Committee 4/21/13

A “Texting While Driving” bill will be heard on Wednesday before a senate committee.
Senate Bill 28, a companion bill authored by senator Judith Zaffirini, will be presented to the senate committee on transportation.
House Bill 63 passed on a third reading last week.
That house bill was authored by Representative Tom Craddick of Midland.
The Alex Brown Memorial Act would make it a misdemeanor to type on a handheld device to send an electronic message while behind the wheel.
It would also create a fine of up to $100 for first-time charges, and $200 for repeat offenses.
