Sunny And Warmer Today 4/11/13
Thursday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan Ė Chief Meteorologist
Expect a much warmer afternoon than yesterday. Despite a cold start to the day, highs will climb into the 70ís for most. A few locations in the highest elevations on the mountains and the northern parts of the Permian Basin and Southeast New Mexico will only reach the upper 60ís. Skies will be sunny and the winds will be below 10mph for most locations through the day.
The temperatures will climb into the 80ís on Friday. It appears that most locations will see partly cloudy conditions.
A brief drop in temperatures is expected on Saturday. Highs will only be in the 70ís for most of West Texas. The winds will increase a little on Saturday and Sunday. However, there isnít a single day that I can pinpoint as being breezy or windy.
Highs will warm into the lower 90ís on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The next storm system will move out of the Rockies on Wednesday of next week. At the moment, it appears that the best lift associated with this storm will be north of us. However, a cold front will move through the region in the wake of this system and might produce a few isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday.
