ECTOR COUNTY, TX - Six parents have been arrested in Ector Eounty for not paying court-ordered child support. The Ector County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Texas Attorney General's Child Support Division held a “Child Support Roundup." Over the past several days, deputies have been out looking for parents who had warrants for failing to pay child support.
The parents arrested face up to six months behind bars. The bonds posted by the delinquent parents wishing to get out of jail are paid to the custodial parents.
"These people have not paid their child support and we take that very seriously, they need to take care of their children," said Sgt. Gary Duesler, Public Information Officer, Ector County Sheriff’s Office.
