Presidio Recycling Gains Momentum 3/15/13

Presidio, TX - A West Texas town that recently introduced recycling to the community is responding well to the incentive.
Coordinators in Presidio say they started the recycling center less than a year ago and as many can see by the bins, citizens are using it.
The recycling center accepts plastic, paper and cans. Mostly student volunteers operate it.
Coordinators hope to get more of the city involved through volunteering at the center.
“Our next step is to work with the kids,” Elvira Hermosillo with Presidio Independent School District.
The recyclables from Presidio are shipped off to the Alpine Texas Disposals System, which transports the materials all the way to Austin.
