Census Bureau Shows Midland, Odessa Among Fastest Growing Metros in U.S. 3/14/13

MIDLAND - The U.S. Census Bureau issued a release today showing Midland as the fastest growing metropolitan area in the United States. Growing at 4.6 percent from 2011 to 2012, Midland was nearly an entire percentage point ahead of Clarksville, Tenn., the second-fastest growing metro.
Odessa's population growth came in at fifth, growing at a rate of 3.4 percent.
The census bureau credits the high growth of the area to the influx of oil and gas workers.
