$6 Million Project To Bring Water and Sewer Along Hwy. 191 In Midland 3/6/13
MIDLAND-The City of Midland is working to bring water and sewer infrastructure to new parts of the city.
Construction is set to begin this year on a more than $6 million water and sewer line along the north side of Highway 191.
It will run along 191 from Hwy. 158 to the intersection of 1788 and 191.
Officials are still acquiring right-of-way for construction, but hope to begin by the end of the year. They say it's a chance to bring new development to the areas.
"That's retail land out there, if you provide water and sewer businesses will come," said city engineer David Beard.
The city will also begin work this year on a water pipeline between Midkiff Road and the Horseshoe arena between business 20 and I-20. Construction begins on that project this summer.
