Texas Sports Minute 3/2/13

Associated Press
March 2, 2013

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs won a game but lost their point
guard. Tony Parker went down with a left ankle sprain in the third quarter of
the team's 130-102 victory over the Sacramento Kings. He finished with 13 points
and seven rebounds and did not return to action. He fell to the ground grabbing
his leg and was helped off the court and straight to the locker room.

NEW YORK (AP) - The Dallas Mavericks avoided blowing a second straight
20-point lead, but for a while it appeared it might happen. Dirk Nowitzki and
Vince Carter each scored 20 points in the 98-90 win over the Brooklyn Nets.
Dallas was coming off a loss in a game against Memphis it had led by 25 points.
The lead against Brooklyn had reached 20.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The Houston Rockets are trying to string some wins
together to get into the Western Conference playoff race. They stopped a
two-game skid with a 118-110 victory over the Orlando Magic yesterday. James
Harden had 24 points, and Chandler Parsons and Carlos Delfino added 21 apiece.
Next up, the Rockets host Dallas on Sunday.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - Joe Kelly couldn't have made a much more emphatic
case for being in the St. Louis Cardinals' starting rotation. He had two hitless
innings in the team's 8-8 tie against the Houston Astros. Houston starter Bud
Norris struck out one and walked one in three innings. The Astros have left the
NL Central this year for the AL West.
