MIDLAND - It was a heartwarming night at one Midland church where middle school children held a special dinner for church members who have lost their husband or wife.
Golf Course Road Church teens hosted a "love" dinner for widows and elderly church members.
Students say it's a chance to show some love across generations and to reach out and learn about life by showing those who have lost loved ones that they are still loved.
"I think it's very important to reach out to the older community,” said Hannah Brunson, an 8th grader at GCR Church of Christ. “We wouldn't be who we are today if it wasn't for them.”
Students helped with every aspect of the event, including leading the group in inspirational songs about love after the meal.
