February 17, 2013
This week our Sunday’s Child is a little older but still deserving of a forever family. Maybe you can find it in your heart to be the support system he desperately needs.
16-year-old Joseph is a pretty good shot as he makes one basket after another. We spend the day at Mr. Gattis, playing games and getting to know each other.
Joseph says, “I like school very much. I look forward to graduating.”
Joseph has been in foster care for more than ten years and because he's seen his siblings be successfully adopted, he's hopeful about his future to.
“I feel pretty good. My little sister was adopted and I’m looking forward to being adopted.”
Finding the right family for a child who's older can be a challenge but we believe the perfect family is out there - someone who can support Joseph, encouraging his hobbies.
“My foster brother and I play basketball together.”
And his desire for a successful future including college.
“I want to be an architect or business. I’d like to build buildings.”
