Texas Tech Bests Last Season's Big 12 Record 2/15/13

LUBBOCK - Texas Tech has seven Big 12 games remaining and
already the Red Raiders have won two conference games - more than they did than
last season.
The difficulties for the Red Raiders (9-13, 2-9 Big 12) have been many,
though. They've lost five straight and continue to struggle with poor shooting,
turnovers, slack rebounding.
Players, though, say they feel the chemistry with teammates continues to
improve heading into Saturday's game at West Virginia.
Chris Walker was named interim coach after Billy Gillispie resigned in
September for medical reasons amid allegations he mistreated players. In his
lone season in Lubbock, Gillispie went 8-23, the program's worst record in two
decades. The Red Raiders won just one conference game.
