Andrews - One of the greatest little towns in Texas is celebrating the production of 300 billion barrels of oil. Andrews is a unique city boasting good schools and other services in a small town rich with mineral wealth.
The Andrews Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet on February 16th with a theme of “Feel the Energy.” Nationally recognized musicians, “Asleep at the Wheel” will entertain the crowd. This is the town’s 60th annual banquet. A deer rifle with ammunition, a dove hunt and other prizes will be raffled during the event. You can get ticket information by calling 432-523-2695.
Andrews Day in Austin is another big event scheduled for the town. City and County officials will travel to Austin on February 20th to meet with lawmakers such as Senator Kel Seliger and Representative Tryon Lewis. Around thirty people will be in Austin to talk with legislators about issues including oil and gas legislation, school finance, water, transportation and roads.
