One man was fatally stabbed after he and three others forcefully gained entry into an acquaintance’s residence with the intent to assault him.
Midland Police Department officers responded in reference to a fight and possible stabbing at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Boyd.
An investigation revealed that 22-year-old Nicholas Johnson, 24-year-old Michael Sawyer, 22-year-old Marcus Hyson, and 22-year-old Megan Sparks forcefully gained entry into 22-year-old Cody Booth’s residence at that address with the intent to assault Booth.
A fight broke out between the involved parties, during which Booth retrieved a knife to defend himself.
Johnson was stabbed during the confrontation and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Sawyer, Hyson and Sparks were arrested for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault.
Booth was arrested on unrelated warrants.
An autopsy will be performed at Tarrant County Medical Examiners.

(Midland)- CBS 7 Exclusive: One person is dead, thre people were arrested after a home invasion early Tuesday morning in Midland.
According to Midland Police, it happened in the 700 block of Boyd at 1:08am.
Police say the home owner defended himself with a knife, stabbing one of the four who broke in.
That person was taken to the hospital with died from his injuries.
The other three were arrested and charged with Burglary with the intent to committ Assault.
Police say all four people and the home owner all knew each other.
