AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The San Antonio Spurs' 11-game winning streak is
over. Greg Monroe did his part with 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Detroit
Pistons in their 119-109 victory. San Antonio played the game without Tim Duncan
and Manu Ginobili.
HOUSTON - James Harden could hardly miss last night for the Houston
Rockets. He went 13 for 16 from the field to get 35 points in the Rockets'
118-103 over the Portland Trail Blazers. Chandler Parsons scored 20. Harden
finished off Portland with a fadeaway jumper from the wing.
DALLAS - The power play was kind to the Dallas Stars last night in
their 3-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. Trevor Daley and Jamie Benn both
scored with a man advantage, and Loui Eriksson added an even-strength goal in
the third period. The Ducks entered the game on a four-game win streak.
IRVING, Texas - The Dallas Cowboys say they're closing in on a deal
with a new running backs coach. Gary Brown is expected to finalize his contract
next week. Brown had served in the same role for the Cleveland Browns. He'd
replace Skip Peete, who was fired.
