Thursday Morning Weather Update 2/7/13
Greg Morgan - Chief Meteorologist
A cold front will move into the area today. This will bring a shot of gusty north winds but little in the way of cooling to West Texas. Highs will top out in the mid 60's to around 70 this afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy.
Winds will quickly shift to the east by Friday morning. Moisture will begin to surge into the region as heights fall in response to an upper low settling into the Great Basin. Highs on Friday will be in the mid 60's for most.
A dryline will sharpen across the region on Saturday. Thunderstorms will develop over the eastern parts of the Permian Basin. Dry conditions are expected over the western half of the area.
Colder conditions will move into the area early next week.
